Welcome!

Welcome to http://charmcity.rocks

This site will eventually have links to recordings made in and around Charm City (Baltimore, MD, the greatest city in America) and points beyond.  Most will be audience recordings, recorded by me, but I may also share some recordings made by others, and links to live streams before they happen.

These will all be free for all to share, will not be copyrighted works, and I will not be profiting off of this website in any way.   Most will be recordings offered by taper-friendly bands, and will have been obtained with permission.  There will not be any DMCA violations hosted here, and i stress if you see something that appears to be copyright infringement, or missing attribution please contact me directly at admin@charmcity.rocks

Initially, I will be linking to downloads in both 16 bit and 24 bit resolutions, in FLAC and MP3 formats. I will add a streaming player and possibly even a "radio" plaer in the near future.

Before I start creating posts, you can view some of my recordings here:

Alabama Shakes 2005-09-18 Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia, MD

unknown photo source

The Shakes have come a long way since Patterson introduced us to them onstage in 2012.

SNL appearances, being on just about every late night show on TV, and sharing the stage with greats like Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan doesn't suck.

Here's their recent headlining set from Merriweather Post, with the truckers opening.

Jacobs Joseph and the Ten Plagues 2015-04-03 8x10 Club Baltimore, MD

So, the story goes, that the 8x10 booked Jerry Joseph and Cris Jacobs to play a show together. they accepted, then realizing it was Passover, cris reconsidered. So Abigail booked another band, and arranged for Appalachian Jamwich magazine to hold their birthday bash there. After a few hours of reflection, Mr. Jacobs reconsidered, and we ended up with one big huge Passover/ Easter bash featuring a stellar lineup of Cris Jacobs, Jerry Joseph, Mookie Siegel, and the inimitable Steve Drizos on the drums.  Jerry's pickin on Country Mile might be the best surprise.

This, like all 8x10 shows, was recorded from the house soundboard / audix mic mix via patchbay, straight into my deck.

my photo.

Hosted on the archive, and available in both 24 and 16 bit depth for your Seder.
